I'm going to assume you get a notification whenever a new question is asked (or a topic in HwS is made). How does that change anything? You could also simply reload the page, check other slightly older pages for unanswered questions, or take a break and come back later to unanswered questions regarding scripting.
The only real reason you may want this is so you can be the first to answer a question, which makes perfect sense. It's pointless to provide the same solution as someone else. While getting notified on new topics will help you answer sooner, you won't be the only one getting notified. Others will still answer first, and the information provided after will either be more helpful than before (which isn't thanks to the notification they got), or will be the exact same.

The sad truth is getting notified won't help that, you'll still have to wait for notifications to come in. That's why I recommend just going to pages 2, 3, or maybe even 4 to check for questions that were left unanswered. I find myself constantly checking Help With Scripts to see if there's anything I can do!
